non-union vs union. crazy how people take their jobs more seriously when you pay them a decent wage and provide benefits.

This has also been my personal experience.
UPS is generally the best. They suck sometimes too. But they suck at a smaller rate than the rest.

That’s the longest I’ve *ever* seen a UPS driver at a stop. Usually it’s just a phantom knock and “we missed you” note.

For a moment I tought for real he would press the package down with the feet or his ass to fit, like some potato smash…
That would have made me laugh so fuckin harder than just the moment of crazy fantasy. 😀

If only the consumer could pick delivery service company. I only use UPS, only down side no P.O. Box deliveries. All customers give a physical address if asked though.

is this related to persona or is this some company culture or is this the two factors combined?

I know it’s already been pointed out. But UPS pays well and is by all accounts a good company to work for.
So yea dude who gets paid more. And is allowed to do the job without feeling overwhelmed and rushed all the time.

You can’t make people care about doing it well or getting it right. Either they do or they don’t.
We recently had an amazingly bad experience trying to get a delivery from Chewy. On Trak first claimed “business closed” (we live in a house), then “couldn’t find address” after having been given specific instructions on how to find it (not at all difficult, but nav systems get it wrong), and then “package refused”. We’re home all day. Nobody tried to deliver anything. We get lots of deliveries. This insanity was a first.
Chewy customer service is amazing. They immediately dispatched a replacement shipment when the first one was delayed, and told us “just keep it” if the original ever turned up. The second one also got lost. CS had directed it to be sent via FedEx (they can find us) but it went to On Trak again. 3rd try finally got to us but I don’t remember the carrier. CS supervisor got involved and wanted all the details, and copies of the emails exchanged with On Trak trying to convince them to bring the box to the easily located address. She said she was going to look into it, and I’m pretty sure some asses got torn extra outlets.

The FedEx driver will not stop leaving packages for my whole street on my porch. I even bought a new address sign and it still happens. UPS every time!

Honestly, this is straight up Union. You pay a person a living wage and they know that they are good with housing and healthcare, they are good. That was a happy worker there. He tcob because it was the right thing to do!!!

UPS is absolutely better than FedEx. Whether I order stuff at work or at home, FedEx is the only one that gives me trouble.
